As I sit here, almost a year has passed since the commencement of the ‘Great Reset’, my thoughts back then were of totalitarianism, a sense of deep foreboding and dread filled my heart and mind. “Lockdown to flatten the curve” they said, and we complied, we gave an inch, but they took a mile.
I find it difficult to find the words that once flowed through my fingertips to the keyboard, a sure sign that, I too, am suffering. Social connection, meeting friends, family and let’s face it anyone with a smile, is what makes us human, it’s what makes you, you and me, me.
Your smile is needed more today than at any other time in history. Smiling allows you, your spirit, the owner of your body, to step into the driving seat, to shine at the other person, there in front of you, to say “Hello!” The greatest risk to your health is not a virus, the greatest risk is that you forget who you are.
Smile to help yourself and others
When Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl was enduring the most inhumane atrocities in Nazi Germany, he knew mentally that he would survive, he decided, not his oppressors. He said,
“Everything can be taken from you but one thing: the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

Months and months of solitude can leave you feeling naturally isolated, it depletes your immune system, leaving you more vulnerable to propaganda and becoming more complicit. The fastest means of getting help is to switch off mainstream media, find something that interests you and take a walk outside, let the world see your beautiful face and smile at everyone you see.
The moment you do, is the moment that you decide for yourself, how you will be and who you are. Choose to live and be free, shining like the wonderful person you are. Reach out to others and let them know that you are not a ghost, you are a real person, return from the dark and reclaim your mind and body. Remember who you are.
Here we are today,
Our freedoms still far away,
Connect, rise and shine.
